Polls Confirm Voters are Sour on SAVE Act

CBS News/YouGov poll released last week confirmed that voters oppose the Republicans’ SAVE Act that would prevent eligible citizens from voting.

The CBS News poll follows a Public Policy Polling survey commissioned by Defend The Vote Action Fund that found several provisions in the SAVE Act are deeply unpopular with Independent voters. Learning more about these individual proposals within the SAVE Act increased their opposition to the bill.

“Instead of working on lowering costs, Republicans are wasting taxpayer time and resources trying to block eligible Americans from voting,” Defend The Vote Action Fund Executive Director Brian Lemek. “We already know Donald Trump will do anything to hold onto power. Now, that even includes forcing states to hand over private voter role information to DHS for a federal surveillance list. Americans don’t like it, don’t want it, and won’t stand for it.”
