Defend The Vote Executive Director Brian Lemek released the following statement following the results of the general election.
“The battle to protect our democracy does not and cannot end with any one election, the passage of any one bill, or the term of any one office. It is an ongoing struggle, and it is worth the fight. This nation will not be measured by our challenges, but instead by how we respond to those challenges.
“The threats posed by Donald Trump and MAGA to people’s individual freedoms are deadly serious. As are risks to our national security and economic security.
“At Defend The Vote, we will gather ourselves today and we will plan for tomorrow. There is no finish line, only a necessity to protect the rights and freedoms that need protection. Our only option is to continue to work to defend the freedom to vote and fortify our democracy so it serves all the people.”
