Defend The Vote (DTV), one of the nation’s leading and most influential pro-democracy organizations, today is endorsing 9 candidates in pivotal races for U.S. House.
The candidates are incumbents who have led efforts to protect the freedom to vote and our democracy. They include, Mary Peltola (AK-At Large), Jason Crow (CO-06), Lauren Underwood (IL-14), Sharice Davids (KS-03), Lori Trahan (MA-03), Jared Golden (ME-02), Greg Landsman (OH-01), Chris Deluzio (PA-17), and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03).
“Every day, these candidates fight to make sure the people they represent are heard in Congress,” DTV Executive Director Brian Lemek said. “They’re committed to defending the freedom to vote and strengthening democracy so that it works for all of us, not just the wealthy and powerful. We’re proud to endorse them and look forward to helping them win in November.”
These candidates are leaders in the House of Representatives on protecting and expanding the right to vote, ending dark money, and ensuring democracy works for everyone.
They’ve cosponsored the Freedom to Vote Act and John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and support funding for local election workers to run safe and accessible elections without threat of harassment or intimidation and to prevent the spread of misinformation. Their presence in the House is essential to passing legislation that protects every American’s right to vote in safe, accessible, transparent elections.
Defend The Vote has emerged as one of the nation’s leading and most influential pro-democracy organizations. It is dedicated to electing pro-voting rights candidates, up and down the ballot, who will preserve our democracy by fighting to safeguard free and fair elections, protect the right to vote, and increase voter access. Last cycle, DTV helped elect 55 pro-democracy House candidates and five Senate candidates.
