Defend The Vote today announced a new slate of endorsements for Democratic candidates for the U.S. House, backing leaders committed to lowering costs for working families, defending the freedom to vote, and taking on the special interests that have rigged Washington and increased costs for everyday Americans.
“Americans know the system is tilted toward billionaire donors, corporate lobbyists, and well-connected insiders—and they’re tired of paying the price,” said Brian Lemek, Executive Director of Defend The Vote. “These candidates understand that lowering the cost of living means rooting out corruption. They’ll fight to make government more accountable, restore trust in our democracy, and ensure Washington works for the people instead of powerful special interests. We’re proud to support their campaigns.”
The endorsed candidates include: Mike McGuire (CA-01), Richard Pan (CA-06), Randy Villegas (CA-22), Manny Rutinel (CO-08), Bale Dalton (FL-07), Jasmine Clark (GA-13), Zach Dembo (KY-06), Jeremy Moss (MI-11), Bob Brooks (PA-07), Chaz Molder (TN-05).
These candidates share a commitment to restoring accountability in Washington by standing up to special interests and advancing anti-corruption reforms that put the public ahead of powerful insiders. They will defend the right to vote and support legislation like the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to strengthen our democracy and ensure political power belongs to the people—not wealthy donors and corporate lobbyists.
Defend The Vote and Defend The Vote Action Fund have already surpassed the $14 million plan they launched early last year to support their respective missions for this cycle, with DTV working to elect pro-democracy candidates and DTV Action Fund focused on pro-democracy issue advocacy.
DTV is the largest pro-democracy electoral and advocacy organization, which supports candidates through direct donations, fundraising support from its pro-democracy donor network, independent expenditures, issue briefings, message guidance and research, and on-the-ground and in-state campaign support.
Last cycle, it helped elect 108 pro-democracy candidates, 75% of the candidates it endorsed.
